The true love
Pride and Prejudice was written by the famous English author Jane Austen(1775—1817).And she has also published many other succeful works, Pride and Prejudice is her representative one.Austen was born in a small town called Steven ton.And her father graduated from University of Oxford.Her mother was good at writing novels, so reading and writing were the main parts of this family in daily life.All of these made a good foundation of her succe in writing.The book Pride and Prejudice whose old name was First Impreion was published by World Books Publishing House in 1813.It mainly introduced the love stories of Mr.Bennet’s daughters.Mr.Bingley, a young single man of large fortune from the north of England took the Netherfield Park near the Bennets.And Mrs.Bennet thought it was a golden opportunity to marry one of her five girls.Then they attended the ball held by Mr.Bingley.But his friend Mr.Darcy declined being introduced to any ladies.And he evaluated Elizabeth contemptuously.But after more contact, he found that Elizabeth was very attractive, especially her beautiful eyes.So he invited her to dance at another ball, but was refused by her, which injured his pride.When Elizabeth walked three miles through the mud to visit and nurse her sister, Mr.Darcy tried to make conversations with her but all ended with failure.Elizabeth was attracted by a gentle officer, Mr.Wickham.But he told her that it was Mr.Darcy who destroyed his future, which made Elizabeth’s prejudice against Mr.Darcy became more serious.During Christmas, Elizabeth went to visit Lady Catherine de Bourgh tighter with Charlotte and Collins.She met Mr.Darcy there for many times, and Mr.Darcy finally proposed to her, ignoring all his pride and prejudice, but was refused surprisingly.And Elizabeth blamed him that he should not separate Jane and Mr.Bingley and trade so badly to Mr.Wicham.Mr.Darcy left with anger.The next day, he sent a letter to Elizabeth himself, explaining all his behaviors.Finally they forgave and understood each other.But things were not so smooth.One day, Lady Catherine broke into Elizabeth’s house to force her to leave Mr.Darcy.But Elizabeth argued on the basis of reason, didn’t want to give in at all.When Mr.Darcy heard that, he proposed to her again with courage and got “Yes” finally!
At the end of the novel, the author introduced the lives of the main characters.The two elder daughters of Mr.Bennet lived happily with their husbands.The first sentence in this book is impreive.It reads: “ it is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in poeion of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.”Most people say that Austen can only write stories about love.Actually her works have the style of pithy、humorous and cynical.And by this book, it revealed the peaceful and sweet country life in the early nineteenth century England and was rich in describing of the psychology of unmarried girls.And it reflected the relationship、custom、and social psychology of the peasant cla in early nineteenth century vividly.And Austen also expreed her idea towards marriage: It is wrong to get married for
property and social status, but it is also silly to marry without considering property.And by describing different marriages, she succefully expreed her high praise on the marriages based on the understanding and true love, and the satire of those based on the property and sexual paion.As far as I am concerned, nothing is more important than true love!I like the character Mr.Darcy, though he performed very pride in the beginning.He chose true love in the end, ignoring the prejudice on her family.I believe they will live a happy life undoubtedly because their true love to each other.In modern society, although the marriages of economic need be decreased rapidly, the concept of “money determines everything” is still rooted in some people’s minds.A lot of parents try hard to interfere their children’s marriage, just like Mrs.Bennet.Education、background、poeions、and jobs remain the main reason that may influence one’s marriage.Marriage for money is still a big problem in our society.We can’t help thinking: “can money determines everything?”
Once I saw a true love story about two young people showed in an entertainment program.The girl from Hunan province studied in abroad alone and felt homesick as she couldn’t adapt to monotonous university life, which led she always played computer games at her dormitory until she recognized him by chance.According to her own words, it seemed that he knew what I thought and sometimes he would send me many hometown specialties.As the days went by, they fell into love with each other.What’s more, the girl went back one year later on the sly just for giving a surprise to him.Then they had several pleasant days before her families found this.Against all exceptions, her parents shut her in a room to stop their meeting because the boy’s family was not as so rich as the girl’s.I don’t know what the result is, but we can learn that the true love does not cause an enough value in our real life.As a result, I hope we can do better to achieve the value of true love.
