Richard
Richard is a teacher at a small colleague in England.He has taught science there for the past 5 years.Before that, for two years, he was graduate student in Newton University, near London.At the same time, he worked part time as a research aistant.He came to England 8 years ago, after finishing his university studies in Hong Kong.He was a top student in Hong Kong.And he was given a grant to study in the UK.He was also offered a grant to study in the US, too.It was a great opportunity for him, because he wanted to get some international experiences.It was difficult choice.But he decided to study in the UK for a personal reason.His girlfriend was going to London to get a job as a model.He was afraid he would lose her if he went to London and she went to the US.After only 3 months in London, she became a succeful model.During that time, their relationship got better.On weekends, the often went to places together.After about two years, they got married.Now they are happily married and have a 5 years old son.Altogether they have leaved in London for almost 8 years.Richard’s family still lives in Hong Kong.He has 2 sisters and a brother.Richard is the youngest.His mother died last year but his father is in good health.Richard speaks tow languages, Chinese and English.He likes living in England and enjoys teaching.He thinks it’s important to get international experience.He hopes to back to Hong Kong someday.He wants to help to contribute to its future.John
John used to be a busine man.He worked for a large company for 6 years.He earn lots of money, but he decided to quit.He wanted to follow his dream to be a writer.But the first book he wrote was rejected.He almost gave up, but he didn’t, he kept on trying.His second book was much better.Now he was a well known writer.He has written several books.In fact, four of his books had been best sellers.Now john is writing a book about the life of Mikhail Gorbachev, the famous Soviet leader.John has done a lot of travelling.When he was 16 years old, he went abroad for the first time.He went to the US and Canada.A year later, when he was 19, he went to Japan and Korea.Since then he has gone to different conntries every year.He would like to have a family.But unfortunately, he still hasn’t met the right women for him.Of course he is looking for a women who likes to travel.He hopes to get married in the next two or three years.Jack
Jack can’t find a job.Nobody will hire him.That’s not very surprising however, because he hasn’t done very much.During his school days, he was often in trouble.He got kicked out of several schools.When he was 16, he got in to a fight and lost 2 teeth.When he was 18, he stole a car.The police caught him and arrested him.That was the first time he was arrested.Since then, he was arrested twice.Altogether, he has been arrested 3 times.Each time he was arrested he has to go to the jail.He has been in the jail 3 times, each time for about 8 months.Altogether he has been in jail for about 2 years.When he was 20, he got married.months later, his wife left him.She couldn’t sand living with someone who always getting in to trouble.Now he was all alone.He is wondering about his life.He is tired to get into trouble, but he doesn’t know what to do.These are 4 occupations.Scientist works in laboratories and do experiment.Scientist studies the nature of the universe and how things work.Scientists like to solve difficult problems and explore the unknown.CONSTRUCTION workers work outside and sometimes operate heavy machinery.Construction workers build things like bridges, dams, and highways.Construction workers sometimes have dangerous jobs.Many people don’t like to go to see a dentist because they are afraid of pain.You usually need an appoint in order to see a dentist.A dentist fixes our teeth and often charges a lot of money.
