It is one year since we came into Shanghai Customs College.However, we still clearly remember the proce of our struggling for the College Entrance Examination.At that time, however busy we are, we will go to my great lengths to overcome the difficulties we have met with.Tired as we were, we still took pains to finish the homework aigned by teachers.As a proverb says,no pains, no gains.We didn’t give up halfway until the College Entrance Examination ended…Hearing the news that we are admitted to Shanghai Customs College, we were wild with joy.We were also pleased to be English majors as we had expected because only when we were in Grade 2 did we start to learn English.From that moment, we had developed a deep interest in English learning.In the past one year, we had a general picture of the surroundings of our school;we had tried my best to adapt ourselves to the new environment.As is known to all, college is popular with abundant recreational activities, which attracted a number of freshmen.These various kinds of activities are available for students to release their strain and stre.Even though there is a hot debate arguing whether they are good for college students or not, we hold a belief that recreational activities do more good than bad.As a result, they do give us a good chance to relax and build good personal relationships with others as well.As long as we can arrange our time reasonably, they will definitely provide more benefits for us.Of course, we have been together in the English club for a year, exercising ourselves a lot.Therefore, we think college is not only a place where we can learn something useful from textbooks, but also a place where we can improve our ability to communicate with others.Generally, having introduced some of our senior high school experiences and our opinions of the activities in college, we want to share some personal feelings on college experience with you.Life is in our own hand
There must be an awful lot of people ready to help us, but generally we must take the initiative and seek them out.Whether succeful or not will be on our own to a great extent.Connecting the dots
As we all know, a good beginning is half done, so we should discipline ourselves, make learning fun, not a chore, get the most from the educational opportunities open to us, and keep up from the first day in cla.If we have a good start, I cling to belief that we will have more opportunities to succeed than others.Today's world is full of precious knowledge, whether it is in the arts, literature, a profeion, or a vocational skill.College is our chance of a lifetime to explore these areas.Each facet can be as exciting when discovered by us as it was when discovered by the original author or explorer.Let ourselves explore beyond our immediate career objectives.A student in auto mechanics in most schools also can take courses in history, philosophy, music, or art.There is no reason a craftsman also can't be a great thinker, or an explorer into the vast areas of unlimited knowledge.For a rich full life, we should make the most of the opportunities at hand.Time is precious
Going to college means a lot more than earning a grade.Limiting our college experience will be a waste to us and to all of the people, past and present.Putting it bluntly, college is a place to be greedy--a place where we take all we can get and then some more.We can’t be content to just skim over courses with “only to pa”.By taking the in-depth approach, we will be exploring many of the disciplines and we will enjoy the rest of our life.Every day is a present
We are unique in the entire history and future of the universe, so we are different from the others.Real beauty comes from learning, growing and loving in the ways of life.That is the Art of Life.We can learn slowly, and sometimes painfully, by just waiting for life to happen to us.Or we can choose to accelerate our growth and intentionally devour life and all it offers.We are the artists that paint our future with the brush of today.God gives every bird its food, but he doesn’t throw it into its nest.Wherever we want to go as well as whatever you want to do, it’s truly up to us.Having shared our own feelings, we have to say something more important about our study.There is no doubt that our main purpose is to acknowledge some new
skills.We are English majors, so we should practice English in many aspects such as listening, reading, speaking, writing, etc.Practice makes perfect.Only by making efforts are we able to make progre, achieving our own goal.Moreover, a green campus is of primary importance.During recent years, the topic of a green campus, which has aroused widely public attention, is becoming more and more popular.There is no doubt that suggesting an environmentally as well as psychologically healthy place, a green campus, is an indispensable part of the development of college student, and has a profound impact on both individuals and society.A green environment, rather than anything else, plays a decisive role in the growth of college students.Meanwhile, it should also be mentioned that a green campus includes not only the places where the students live, but also the places where are highly beneficial to the mental development of students.Without green surroundings, the souls of our students would not be as pure as we wish.In that case, in no place other than campus should we strive to make a green atmosphere.Due to the seriousne of the situation, it is crucial for us to take effective measures to create a green campus nowadays.In the first place, it is eential that law and regulations should be worked out and enforced by the government and authorities.Furthermore, it’s high time we enhanced the self-awarene.Only in this way are we capable of getting satisfactory results.With these measures taken, it is reasonable for us to believe that a green campus will be achieved in the near future.To sum up, going to college means making choices.Sometimes the things we want most, we just can't have.The greatest thing about college is to take the chances, and then making the most of them.Sometimes the things we want to forget are the things which we most need to talk about.Once we get to college, things don’t automatically get better;it’s what we make of them.
